Elmo actually speaks as his mouth opens and closes just like the real muppet, Elmo, from Sesame Street. He waves his arms, stands and sits, even crosses his legs. His head bobbles back and forth as he speaks. He tells stories and jokes, singing songs and playing games. Finally, children can activate the magic with a tickle or a squeeze of Elmo’s tummy, foot, back or nose. Among all Sesame Street characters, Elmo has a huge fan following and will sure provide hours of laughter to your kid this Christmas day and beyond.

Elmo Live Description and Reviews
What is it? Is it live or is it Elmo Live? For the first time in Sesame Street history, Elmo really appears in this truly life-like creation to be speaking as his mouth closes and opens just like a muppet. His head bobbles back and forth as he speaks and his mannerisms are right on target. Elmo sits, stands and waves his arms, and even crosses his legs while telling jokes and stories, playing games and singing songs. Children can activate the magic with a tickle or a squeeze of Elmo's nose, back, foot or tummy. This awesome Christmas present requires 6 "AA" batteries, included. Elmo Live measures 12" tall.Elmo Live will delight all the Elmo fans! This newest version of this all-time favorite Sesame Street character has Elmo singing, talking, telling jokes, and a lot more. Thanks to its interactive style, Elmo Live! encourages creative play, and to its wide variety of actions, he can entertain your kids through different stages of their development, from 18 months onward.
Moving, Dancing, Talking Elmo!
Elmo Live! features the bright-red, furry exterior and the big eyes so characteristic of this popular Sesame Street character. He features complex actions that give him a life-like quality: His head and mouth move while he sings, talks, and tells stories; he moves his legs, and he gestures with his arms. He even crosses his legs while sitting on the included stool.
We found him extremely easy to play with -- to get him going, just press his buttons. When you press Elmo's foot, he will sit down on his stool to tell you a story. Believe it or not, Elmo Live even gestures to act out parts of his stories! If you squeeze his nose, he'll make a variety of funny and silly sounds; he also know this very popular game of “do you have my nose" and ask you if you could give it back to him. He’ll dance if you squeeze his hand. Elmo even asks for hugs, blows kisses, and says he loves you. He acts ticklish, tells jokes, and more.
A very practical feature is the battery-save mode activated when Elmo is laid on his back, or if your child doesn't play with him for a while. You’d believe is alive as he'll yawn, say he's tired, and shut down. He will get going again a the press of one of his buttons.
Elmo Live Provides Interactive Fun for Kids of Many Ages
Unlike some other "talking" toys, we particularly enjoyed that Elmo Live! doesn't just spout programmed phrases. Instead, he wants your child to interact with him and he responds as if your child is responding to him. The interaction is just amazing, for example, he will ask for a hug and then say "thank you" as if he's received one, or he'll say he's ticklish and then will "respond" as if your kid is tickling him. As we’re sure you can imagine, this makes an almost magical experience for your child. In fact, it is as if her toy is really coming to life.
Because of the wide variety of things that Elmo Live! can do, he will be a great toy to grow with your child. By simply pressing Elmo's buttons to see what he does, younger children can engage in cause-and-effect play. Our two-year-old tester was particularly delighted with the funny and silly sounds Elmo makes when his nose is squeezed. Of course, her attention meandered during the somewhat lengthy stories. That being said, an older child will have the attention span and comprehension skills required to appreciate them, as well as the good jokes that Elmo tells.
A Few Tips on Playing with Elmo Live!
Elmo makes lots of fun gestures and movements-- the only slight drawback is that his movements also generate a somewhat mechanical sound that sometimes interferes with being able to understand clearly what Elmo is saying. Furthermore, he has to be on a flat, hard surface -- otherwise he has a tendency to fall over. In fact, this in itself has a really funny effect, however. When Elmo falls over, he asks you to help him back up again, and when he's put back upright, he'll say "thank you." Another thing is that his nose has to be squeezed with a bit of force to activate him. Consequently, our two-year-old tester sometimes needed assistance with it.
